VOD

An important part of the Mobile TV offer is 'Video on Demand'.VOD is becoming important as part of TV services, but in the Mobile environment, the possibility to view content which is chosen personally, and viewed at the specific convenient moment, is even more important than in a home environment.

The VOD services include a "library" of programs that may be offered as part of a Mobile TV subscription or a set of 'Premium Programs'

The term VOD is often used also to describe 'Time Shift TV', which relates to services which allow the subscriber to view programs that are offered on the live channels, but according to their own personal schedule.

'Time Shift' services can include features such as 'Start Over' (allows the user to press a button, and watch the program which is now on - from the beginning) 'Pause and Continue' (allows the user to stop a live program in the middle, and resume watching from the same point when he/she chooses).

Mobixell's Videon 'Time Shift Server' allows operators to offer these services based on the combination of advanced functionality to end-users, combined with simple, yet powerful, robust, and scalable architecture.
