Mobixell Launches Videon Version 3.0 for quality Mobile TV experience

Mobixell VideonTM 3.0 provides advanced rich media adaptation and delivery platform for Live TV, VOD and Web content

Cupertino, CA - Mobixell Networks, leading providers of innovative mobile multimedia, Mobile TV, and Mobile advertising solutions, today announced the launch of VideonTM version 3.0 - Mobixell's mobile TV and Video product for operators.  Mobixell's VideonTM, which is commercially installed at various mobile operators around the world, enables the delivery of new video services from Video on Demand and live channels to internet video, over a vast variety and diversity of mobile devices, domains and networks, simply and at optimum quality. It has been developed to help operators to drive traffic growth for on-device video entertainment and to create the ultimate experience for end users consuming rich media on a mobile phone. The advantages of VideonTM version 3.0 are the integration of a mobile internet gateway, an acquisition system, ad injector, streaming server and bit rate adaptation technology - all in one product.

The VideonTM solution enables operators to maximise the opportunities for generating additional revenue streams from Mobile TV from a wide variety of content, including the Web (user generated content and web TV), Live TV and VOD libraries. The video quality is optimised to the changing network conditions so that connections are maintained even through low reception and handovers. Subscribers can switch from one channel to another without losing quality, interruption to the service or long waiting times. 

For end users, the solution will deliver a more complete, personalised experience all delivered at optimum quality, which will enable the mobile TV experience to evolve from 'passive zapping' to 'active browsing'. 

The Mobixell Videon platform is built to support the business model of ad-funded TV services by providing real-time targeted advertising injection: Videon is already integrated and deployed in commercial service with Mobixell's Ad-ItTM ad server.
