Mobixell Sponsors Panel at Global Broadband Traffic Management Congress

Discussion to Focus on Relationship Between Operators and OTT Players

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA – November 8th, 2011 – Mobixell Networks, a leading global provider of intelligent mobile Internet solutions, announced today that it is sponsoring a panel at the forthcoming Broadband Traffic Management Congress in London. The panel will address a sensitive issue that concerns many operators: ‘Taking Steps Towards ‘Two-Sided’ Business Models: To What Extent Can Operators Build a Dialogue and Establish a Common Language with OTT Players?

The Mobixell-sponsored panel is part of the Mobile Video Optimisation track, and will investigate whether operators and third party content and service providers can work together for mutual profit. It will examine who is driving the relationship between operators and content owners. It will also explore the benefits to consumers of greater ecosystem development and formal content delivery agreements and mechanisms between the two.

Taking place at 3.20pm, Tuesday, November15th, the panel will feature Yehuda Elmaliach, Mobixell’s CTO, as well as speakers from Deutsche Telekom, F5 Networks, SeeSaw, Openet and YouTube.

“Over the top video content is a key issue for the future of network operator profitability and a major contributor to the data explosion we’ve seen in recent years,” said Yehuda Elmaliach, Mobixell’s CTO. “As networks increasingly come under strain, it raises questions over who should cover the costs of delivering high-quality content and services to subscribers: OTT players, operators or perhaps both.”

Dean Bubley, founder of Disruptive Analysis and panel chair, commented, “Given the topicality of so-called OTT content and applications, this should be a lively debate. How telcos respond to Internet-based content, voice and messaging providers is an increasingly contentious issue. There are numerous scenarios and points of view, especially about who should be paying whom, and for what.”

Broadband Traffic Management focuses on the optimization and monetization of the broadband customer experience. It runs from November 15th to 17th and is held at the Royal Garden Hotel, London. For more information see http://www.broadbandtrafficevent.com/.
