Mobixell Networks Announces Rich Media 7 To Deliver Optimum User Experience of Messaging, Web and Video Rich Media Services in a Single Centralised Hub

Next generation multimedia hub streamlines management and minimises costs for mobile operators

Mobile Asia Congress, Hong Kong, 18th November 2009 - Mobixell, a leading provider of innovative Mobile Multimedia Messaging, Mobile TV, and Mobile Advertising solutions has today announced the introduction of Rich Media 7, a new generation of its popular Rich Media Service Centre (RMSC) solution deployed at over 120 mobile operators, which offers a single, streamlined content adaptation hub for video, MMS, offline content and Web rendering. The new mobile multimedia and content adaptation hub allows mobile operators to consolidate all of the rich media adaptation and services into a single, centralised platform, which also includes tracking, streaming and PC-to-Mobile services.  This consolidated hub offers simplified management and reporting and lower hardware and software costs, by eliminating the need to purchase and manage independent media adaptation systems for each media type.

Key enhancements to the original RMSC system include video adaptation and streaming to ensure that video content is seamlessly adapted to provide the optimal experience based on the handset, connection or network that is available. Also incorporated in Rich Media 7 is web rendering, to adapt mobile screens sizes to offer the same high quality web browsing experience to mobile users that is currently available via the PC.  The Rich Media 7 platform includes a terminal database of all handsets and configurations that automatically adapts multimedia content to a user’s specific device, without the need for any manual intervention. It also supports Mobixell’s application programming interface (API) to incorporate mobile advertising services enabling operators to add, for example, pre and post roll advertising to a subscriber’s video or MMS communications.

Avichai Levy, Executive VP Marketing, at Mobixell comments: “The value of the system is in the synergy between Web, Video streaming, Multimedia and offline content adaptation, which provides excellent user experience in services such as video-rich web browsing. With major sporting events like the football World Cup and the Olympics on the horizon, operators are looking at the potential pulling power of these events to increase revenues from multimedia services such as video, browsing and rich-media messaging, without major expense and disruption to their existing network.  This is precisely why we believe our upgraded platform offers a winning combination.”

Simon Darr, AVP Marketing, at Mobixell added, “By incorporating four Multimedia adaptation systems into a single system, mobile operators will be able to save up to 50% on operating and capex costs and - in times of economic struggle - this is sure to come as welcome news. By utilizing Mobixell’s Rich Media 7 solution, operators can roll out the full gamut of multimedia services with ease, as well as introducing new ad-funded business models.  Our solution makes all types of content available to the widest possible base of users, irrespective of their handset, network or connection speed.”

Mobixell Rich Media 7 solution, which will be presented at the Mobile Asia Congress 2009 on November 18-19, Hall E09,  has already been deployed in its early versions with several tier 1 global operators and is now available to operators worldwide.
For existing RMSC customers an upgrade solution is available.
